I enjoy working with children and inspiring them to reach their full potential while equipping them with strategies and tools to achieve their goals. I am positive, innovative, flexible, enjoy gamifying any difficult task, a problem solver, and work well alone and with a team.
Biography (tutoring history)
I have worked as a Montessori teacher and taught KG-grade 2. As a Montessori teacher I provided children with multi-modal experiential learning opportunities and promoted goal-attainment for students having learning disorders, ASD and ADHD. My husband and I co-founded a non-profit early learning center for children from low socio-economic and marginalized backgrounds that is still providing quality primary education. I have taught English as a second language to 50+ students in Asia through online learning platforms. This included lesson planning, providing students with personal progress reports, grading and assessment, and assisting students in preparation for standardized English exams and oral presentations. Most recently I have worked as a researcher and teaching assistant at the University of Waterloo and have conducted original research examining children’s socio-emotional and cognitive development, false beliefs, and pro-social behavior.
