Teaching children and fostering a positive work environment for children has been a goal of mine since I was young. Not every child has the same needs, and not every children learns the same way. Therefore, it is my goal to try to help your child succeed in a way that fits their needs. I do my best to always provide positive reinforcement, and finding news ways to make learning fun. Challenging children and young adults to reach their best potential and watching that light switch go on when they finally understand is a moment that continually reminds me why I went into teaching in the first place.
Biography (tutoring history)
Since high school I took every opportunity to tutor or mentor my peers, whether that be in academics or sporting events. In my professional year at Lakehead University I began a t utoring program both for the math exam as well as general classes. I also began, helped with, and oversaw an editing program as well for students that needed an extra set of eyes on their work. Since joining the board with TVDSB, I got the chance to have an Long-Term Occasional for two months, and ran tutoring programs during recess for those that felt they were struggling and needed extra help, both in academics and when it came to social and mental awareness.
